1 lb. | Owens Italian Roll Sausage |
6 | mini Kaiser rolls (3-inch diameter) |
3/4 cup | prepared marinara sauce |
1 pkg. | frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained (10 oz) |
2 tablespoon | Parmesan cheese, grated |
1 1/4 cups | Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided |
1 | Preheat oven to 375F. |
2 | Split rolls horizontally in half. Scoop out insides, leaving 1/2-inch thick shell; set aside. |
3 | Cook sausage in large skillet on medium-high heat until browned and crumbled; drain well. Add marinara sauce, spinach, Parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup of the shredded Mozzarella; mix well. |
4 | Spoon 1/4 cup sausage mixture into each hollowed out roll. Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon shredded Mozzarella. Place on baking sheet. |
5 | Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Try with English muffins for an even more kid-friendly appeal! |
