Serves 12
1 lb. | Owens Regular Roll Sausage |
1/2 cup | diced onion |
1/2 cup | diced green pepper |
1 can | 8 oz. |
1 can | 16 oz. spicy chili beans |
1 tablespoon | chili powder |
2 teaspoons | cumin |
1 bag | 12 slider buns |
2 cups | shredded cheddar cheese |
2 tablespoons | butter (melted) |
1 | In large skillet over medium heat cook sausage, onion and green pepper until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender. |
2 | Stir in tomato sauce, beans, chili powder and cumin. Simmer over low heat 15 minutes. |
3 | Preheat over to 350 F. |
4 | Spray a 9”x13” baking pan with nonstick spray. Place bottom bun halves in pan. Top with chili mixture then sprinkle with cheese. |
5 | Top with bun tops. Brush buns with melted butter. Cover pan with foil and bake 15 minutes. |
6 | Uncover and bake 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is melted. |
